Arno Schidlowskis analog und von Hand gefertigten Fotografien entstehen in langen Arbeitsprozessen und aus einer konzentrierten Auseinandersetzung mit Natur und Licht. Dabei stellt er sich bewusst den allgegenwärtigen Klischees des Romantischen und des Pittoresken. Im Spannungsfeld zwischen Uniformität und Individualität kreisen seine Bildzyklen oft um Fragen nach der Abgrenzung von kulturell konstruierter zu natürlicher Schönheit.
In fotografischen Reihungen und Sequenzen lässt Schidlowski eine poetische Dichte entstehen, die rasch
von der Analyse und dem Vergleich des Vorgefundenen wegführt und den Betrachter stattdessen in eine meditative Schwebe versetzt. Das Schauen wird zum Einswerden mit der unermesslichen Natur. Schidlowskis Fotografie eröffnet immer neue Räume zu Kontemplation und Refexion. Wer will, vermag in den Bildern aber auch erkenntnisphilosophische Aspekte zu Unberührtheit und Zugriff, Illusion und Wirklichkeit, Einmaligkeit und Wiederkehr, Leben und Vergänglichkeit zu erkennen.

Arno Schidlowski's analog and handmade photographs are the result of long working processes and a concentrated examination of nature and light. In doing so, he consciously confronts the ubiquitous clichés of the romantic and the picturesque.
Caught between uniformity and individuality, his series of images often revolve around questions about the distinction between culturally constructed and natural beauty.
In photographic series and sequences, Schidlowski creates a poetic density that quickly leads away from the analysis and comparison of what is found and instead transports the observer in a meditative limbo.The act of looking becomes one with the immenseness of nature. Schidlowski's photography constantly opens up new spaces for contemplation and reflection. Those who wish to do so can also recognise epistemological aspects of untouchedness and access, illusion and reality, uniqueness and recurrence, life and transience in the images.
