Die künstlerische Praxis von Jan Paul Evers erforscht die Fotografie als Medium der Reflexion über Wahrnehmung und Weltverhältnis.
Im Sinne Vilém Flussers versteht sie sich als ein Spiel gegen den Apparat, das etablierte Bildlogiken hinterfragt und neue ästhetische Möglichkeiten eröffnet. Durch analoge S/W-Techniken, experimentelle Dunkelkammerprozesse und digitale Bildaneignung werden alternative Verfahren der Bildproduktion und -transformation erprobt.
Zudem erweitert der Einsatz Künstlicher Intelligenz die Auseinandersetzung mit den Bedingungen fotografischer Bildgenerierung.
Kunsthistorische Referenzen – insbesondere zur Pop Art, zum Konstruktivismus und zur Abstrakten Kunst – dienen als visuelle und konzeptuelle Reflexionsräume. Angesichts gegenwärtiger Krisen rückt die Untersuchung bildgebender Verfahren und deren Rolle in der Konstruktion von Realität verstärkt in den Fokus.

The artistic practice of Jan Paul Evers explores photography as a medium for reflecting on perception and the relationship to the world.
In the spirit of Vilém Flusser, it is understood as a game against the apparatus—questioning established image logics and opening up new aesthetic possibilities. Through analog black-and-white techniques, experimental darkroom processes, and digital image appropriation, alternative methods of image production and transformation are tested.
Furthermore, the use of artificial intelligence expands the engagement with the conditions of photographic image generation.
Art historical references—particularly to Pop Art, Constructivism, and Abstract Art—serve as visual and conceptual spaces for reflection. In light of contemporary crises, the examination of imaging processes and their role in the construction of reality has gained increasing relevance.
